We’re industrial design consultancy focusing on bespoke street furniture for the public realm.

Michelle Herbut has been in the furniture design and manufacture industry for 13 years. A graduate from University of South Australia’s Industrial Design program she began her career with a local street furniture manufacturer, designing and managing projects all over Australia. This company allowed her to build up her knowledge of the industry, liaising with manufacturers and learning about different materials and manufacturing techniques.

In 2009 Michelle moved to Sydney and spent the next 5 years with various street furniture companies, building her portfolio and skills.

Michelle has also been lucky enough to work on private residential furniture products and projects for the Energy Australia Learning Centre, Allied French Polishers and Creative Concept Design.

Michelle’s work has been published in Street Furniture by Chris van Uffelen and Street Furniture by Jacobo Krauel.

What we offer

We’re a design practice that encourages collaboration in the early stages of a project. Its easy for us to go through the design development process or to manufacture a product that has already been designed, but our specialty is in integrating ourselves in your project and creating the designs with you. Why is this important? Because of our experience and knowledge in the industry we are able to foresee issues and provide a solution. 

    • Are components easily replaceable/repairable?

    • What needs to be done to integrate lighting, do we need to allow for access?

    • How will the product be manufactured and will that process effect the lead time?

    • Designing products that requires moulds - how does that work and how can we minimise effects to the budget?
